Of Swiss nationality, Carlo was born and raised in Milan, Italy. The qualified ETH architect came to the world of wine indirectly. Having planned and overseen various major events for Wine Premium Services, his constantly growing interest in wine became a passion and induced him to attend wine courses and wine tastings. In 2002, after several years of practice in the wine trade, he gave up architecture to become an active partner and associate of Wine Premium Services, the company founded by his wife Beatrice van Strien in 1998
Since 2006, he is in charge of customer support, wine assessments, physical wine checks, sales and logistics for a notorious Swiss Wine Auction House.
